BRIGHT Downtown promises to lift spirits and light up our dark winter evenings with bright, vibrant animations. This outdoor activation will feature colourful 3D animations that can be viewed from šxʷƛ̓ ənəq Xwtl’e7énk Square (North Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery).
The DVBIA’s latest activation is an exciting and unique opportunity to view a light projection of this scale and duration in the heart of the downtown core. Safe, physically distanced events like these create a meaningful shared experience that is so essential for the community, now more than ever.

“Shattered” at the Beaumont has given the COVID-era haunted house thing a go, and a journey through the dark studios is likely as close to “normal” as you’ll feel this spooky season. There’s no human actors save for a few masked mad scientists who make sure that everyone’s staying safe and distanced.
A Halloween maze full of mind-bending optical illusions is what’s to become of Vancouver’s Beaumont Studios venue this October.Participants will venture through 10,000 square feet of winding hallways, rooms, and an outdoor courtyard transformed by hundreds of lasers and soundscapes, crafted by dozens of Vancouver artists and two production companies.
“Shattered at The Beaumont: A Wicked Walkthrough Experience” takes place at The Beaumont from October 8 to 31, 2020. The event is described as a “hair-raising, Halloween-themed, physically distanced walkthrough.”
In order to create the experience, The Beaumont partnered with Go2 Productions, Innovation Lighting, and dozens of Vancouver-based artists.
Illuminate Yaletown is back! The astonishing annual event is ready to transform Yaletown into an immersive, hands-on, light show experience that’s completely free and open to the public. Once again, the festival will feature light-based art installations that utilize advanced video and lighting technology that is both cutting edge and power smart.
When the sun sets over the city, head to Hamilton Street and Bill Curtis Square to be dazzled by the light-art exhibition featuring contemporary technology from industry-leading light artists and designers.

Façade Festival is a week-long, monumental public art project and cultural event that takes place from sunset to midnight every evening from September 8 to 14 on the Georgia Street façade of the Vancouver Art Gallery, above the šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énk Square.
Just as the days are getting shorter again, B.C. contemporary artists light up the night with huge projected artworks across the historic façade of the gallery.
Burrard Arts Foundation is partnering up with the Vancouver Art Gallery for the Facade Festival, an outdoor public art and cultural event featuring commissioned works by contemporary artists. Every evening from September 8 to 14, the gallery’s exterior facade will be covered with a projection of dynamic artwork.
The conference brought the theme of “Bigger Than Us,” to life with tech-infused experiences, local artwork, and activations. Go2 consulted on the Dupot activation: “DuPont’s dome served as a space for attendees to meditate and relax, while participating in a 4-D, virtual-reality guided meditation.”
Weber Metals, a member of the Otto Fuchs Aerospace Group, recently designed a 60,000-ton hydraulic press, the largest pulldown press in the world. They came to Go2 looking for a unique solution for their inauguration event.

Ignite magazine featured a double-page spread on the Vancouver Events Industry Holiday party where Go2 created a visual feast combining projection mapping, hologram-like furniture and an LED DJ booth.

Event Tech is the world’s only conference on using social media and technology to enhance live experiences. Adrian Scott will be talking about the making of a spherical hologram, an event industry first.
For Major League Soccer season (MLS2017), Go2 Productions was asked to create a soccer-based experience that would attract a crowd both throughout the daytime and also retain interest throughout the evening. The solution turned out to be an innovative use of LED tiles for an interactive soccer experience during the day with a projection mapping component to amp up the experience at night.
WestJet came to ILEA member, Go2 Productions, looking for a turnkey solution for an event taking place after their annual general meeting at the WestJet Campus in Calgary. The focus of this event was to launch a new livery design onto their recently acquired 787 Dreamliner planes.
The ‘Mirage At Metropolis’ was a project developed in 2016 for British Columbia’s largest shopping mall, Metropolis at Metrotown. The four-storey complex hosted a 360-degree audiovisual (AV) immersive experience in its main atrium, combining colourful, animated digital projection-mapped content with a mirrored floor and ceiling.

Canadian digital signage projects picked up more than one-third of the 2018 Apex Awards—10 out of a total of 27—at a special ceremony during last month’s Digital Signage Expo (DSE) in Las Vegas, Nev.
The use of projection mapping—i.e., using projected video to turn buildings and other flat surfaces into dynamic art—has exploded in recent years. Using motion graphics, video, 3-D animation, and other new technology, event hosts now have increasingly innovative ways to convey brand messaging, provide unique stage backdrops, decorate walls and ceilings, and evoke emotions.

Best Non Profit Event: To mark the 30th anniversary of British Columbia Children’s Hospital’s Crystal Ball, organizers sought to celebrate the event’s past with a “30 Years Through the Looking Glass” theme. Go2 produced the magical opening video that captured the essence of the fantastical novel and set the tone for the night.
For seven nights from September 4-10, the third edition of Façade Festival, an annual public art initiative and projection mapping festival in Vancouver, featured the work of ten artists, witnessed by over 35,000 attendees. Go2 Productions was the technical provider, who tested all the artwork on their in-house 8′ 3D model of the iconic Vancouver Art Gallery. They also contributed the festival’s finale, titled “Contradistinction.”
By making site-specific art happen, CODAworx is on a mission to transform every space in the world. Jury participants reviewed 465 projects from 21 countries. Winners and honorees were named in 10 categories. In addition, 50,000 online votes determined two People’s Choice prizes.

When pioneering West Coast avant-gardiste Eric Metcalfe – aka Doctor Brute – covered the façade of the old Vancouver Art Gallery with leopard spots in 1973, they were designed freehand and painted in over five nights. Forty-three years later, his signature spots appear on the exterior of the VAG as high-tech projection mapped creations, part of the city’s second annual Façade Festival.
“Mirage” is a two-minute immersive art installation, custom-built by BOLD Event Creative with visuals by Go2 Productions.

Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) created a whole new look for The National WWII Museum in New Orleans during 2015’s The Rental Show. The 100 foot tall outdoor facade was transformed with a specialized and astounding “projection mapping” animation that was three dimensional – and very blue.
Vancouver’s Go2 Productions has been instrumental in a couple of major events across the border, demonstrating their creative 3D projection mapping. 3D projection mapping brings irregular surfaces to life, which brings stunning impact to events like product launches.
A Vancouver-based video marketing company managed to light up the room and score a pair of major awards for digital signage this week. Go2 Productions, which specializes in creating massive digital projections, was honoured with the gold prize for projection mapping (education) by judges at the Digital Signage Expo on February 12.
