Spooktacular Halloween Immersive Adventures with Go2 Productions!

At Go2 Productions, Halloween isn’t just about costumes and candy; it’s about crafting immersive experiences that transport our audience to otherworldly realms of spook and amazement. Go2 Productions has had the privilege of bringing the magic of Halloween to life multiple times through cutting-edge technology, digital visual art and immersion. In this blog post, we will embark on a fascinating journey through some of Go2 Production’s most memorable projects:

Shattered at the Beaumont – 2020

In October 2020, Go2 Productions partnered with The BeaumontInnovation Lighting and dozens of Vancouver-based artists to curate an extraordinary Halloween exhibit. ‘Shattered’ was a fusion of art and technology, inviting guests to explore 10,000 square feet of The Beaumont’s enigmatic spaces. With an array of lights, lasers, 3D installations, and soundscapes, the experience was nothing short of spellbinding.

However, 2020 was a challenging year for immersive experiences due to the COVID-19 Pandemic regulations and protocols, including a mask requirement, hygiene stations, and a definitive audience flow. Go2 Productions thrived at bringing this Halloween experience by implementing physically distanced, timed walkthroughs and staggered entry for pods of up to 6 people within the same social bubble. ‘Shattered’ captivated guests of all ages during these times, leaving them with cherished memories of a Halloween like no other.

Shattered received spectacular reviews during its three-week run and was sold out every single night. The exhibit saw over 6500 attendees, many of whom were visiting the Beaumont studios for the very first time.

Day of the Dead Projection Mapping – Granville Island, Vancouver

In a celebration of Latin American culture, Go2 Productions collaborated with Latincouver to create a Day of the Dead projection mapping show in Granville Island, Vancouver. This project aimed to illuminate the rich traditions surrounding the Day of the Dead, offering a unique cultural experience.

The animations narrated the history of the Day of the Dead/Dia de los Muertos and some of its most important cultural elements, such as bread and the cempasúchil flower, as well as the origins of the tradition that goes back to pre-Hispanic cultures and some of its key legends such as Mictlán (the Mexican underworld).

The projections took place on a 40ft x 20ft building in Vancouver’s bustling Granville Island. The final result was a collaborative piece of art with elements from the community’s input expressed through our artists’ vision. The fusion of technology and art allowed us to showcase the vibrancy and depth of this cherished celebration, leaving an indelible mark on the audience.
